Haircut
This has nothing to do with church but I need a haircut. I usually get my hair cut every 5 or 6 weeks but I missed my last appointment and I’m now on week 9. During these last few weeks I’ve enjoyed the money I’ve saved. Even though it’s not that much when you break it down by weeks I still feel like I’ve won a sweepstakes.
But now I have to get it cut. My first clue was when I was looking in the mirror and noticed some ugly looking hair creeping up over my collar. Hair is supposed to grow DOWN over my collar, not UP from under it. I was shocked at how much I resembled one of those creepy looking guys I keep my kids away from when we go to the park.
My second clue was when a couple of paleontologist tried to trap me with a net thinking I was the missing link. They were confused because, on the one hand, they didn’t think the missing link would look so bad. On the other hand, they thought it was odd that the missing link spoke semi-fluent English. When my drivers license checked out they walked away muttering to themselves incoherently.
I guess it is time to give in and call the lady that cuts my hair. She’s nice enough that she won’t charge me for missing my appointment without notice but she may get a little careless with the clippers just to punish me a bit. In the end she’ll cut my hair and we will make an appointment for my next cut in about 5 weeks. I wonder if she actually writes those appointments down for me or if she just assumes I won’t show up?
